The Charcoal Burners

Charcoal burning is a long process, and as such we need to be able to live and work in the same place. We are passionate about the beauty and value of our woodland surroundings, so a green-build, or ecohome, seemed the obvious choice to compliment our surroundings rather than impact upon them.

We have been very fortunate to have had the advice and help of Ben Law (and his team) right from the planning stages. Ben Law's own cruck framed house was featured on Channel 4's Grand Designs.

We have no mains services here (electricity, gas, or waste removal), so we need to provide alternative means of heating, cooking, and dealing with waste, and we want to do it in as environmentaly friendly way as possible - it's a BIG challenge.
